A registered architect and professional member of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI). Earned his B.Sc in Architecture from Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITENAS), Bandung in 1998 and his Postgraduate Diploma in Inner City Renewal and Heritage Management from the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 1999 and then gain his Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Urban Design from Technical University (TU) Delft, The Netherlands in 2002. He is also a member of the Indonesian Institute of Urban Designers or IARKI (Ikatan Ahli Rancang Kota Indonesia).

He also competent in architectural heritage conservation, certified by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. He has been a member of the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) since 2006 and currently serves as the President of ICOMOS Indonesia. He has participated and delivered papers and presentations in numerous national, regional and international forums in the fields of architecture, urban design and heritage conservation

An architecture and history enthusiast, Alexander has an array of substantial experience in community placemaking, and experimental and educational space design. He is eager to improve the built environment by bridging his passion for socioeconomics and participatory human-centric design, with his research works in architecture, urbanism, and historic environment. 

Between obtaining his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Lincoln and his Master’s degree at National University of Singapore (NUS), Alexander has worked on numerous projects of varying scales and typologies across Hong Kong, Japan, and Singapore. With the opportunity to facilitate open dialogues with the neighborhood in most of his projects, he aims to create shared values and enrich the historical and cultural fabric of the local context. Determined to mediate the needs of the heritage environment and contemporary development through design and conservation strategy, Alexander has a concentration in architectural design and conservation from his Master's and took part in several UNESCO activities prior to joining HDS. 

Beyond his professional pursuits, he derives joy from collecting books and wandering in the city, socializing and immersing himself in local cultures while exploring. Passionate about contributing to his homeland, Alexander relocated back to Medan, Indonesia in 2024.

Registered architect and professional member of Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) with almost 10 years of experience, He has been involved in various architectural projects. Having a diverse background, he firmly believes that his cultural mosaic senses allow him to combine tried-and-true cultural architectural concepts with creative advanced planning techniques. In his role as the head of studio, he applies his forward-thinking and critical perspective to the discourses of architecture and the built environment. By further integrating this with other initiatives, he thereby provides additional value and benefit to clients as well as end users.

He understand what makes a design workable in addition to being visually attractive and functional. He is aware that architecture necessitates an awareness of a variety of components and that careful attention to detail and a thorough comprehension of the building's setting are essential to a well-designed structure. With the degree in architecture from Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), he took off his architectural career as a construction supervisor, project manager, and architectural designer of various projects in Medan. With the opportunity to work with clients from both the private and public sector, he received the chance to work on several community-related architectural developments since 2016.

With years of experience in the field, he strives to concrete his belief that architectural practice and space-making are one of the many ways to lead humanity forward to redefine its soul.

An architectural graduate with sensible artistic background, Vino approaches architectural design from a unique creative perspective. He is skilled at using words and architectural representation to tell stories about architecture, and is interested in merging reality with imagination to create fascinating metaphysical architecture. Functional and sustainable design is another area of great passion for him. He is therefore excited to turn abstract ideas into concrete products. 

A graduate from Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) in Medan, Vino has been an active member of the urban sketcher community who loves to imagine and draw different cityscapes and architectural marvels. Before joining HDS,  he worked for an architectural consultant that engaged in numerous commercial and hospitality projects. He is also an accomplished artist, has worked with various collaborators and exhibited his work locally. 

Vino appreciates the art of visual storytelling as he believes it possesses the potential to connect individuals on a profound level. Thus, armed with his sketching supplies, he relishes strolling across the city.

Carla is an architectural graduate passionate about detailed design and a human-centered approach. With experience in Building Information Modeling (BIM) for architecture, she possesses a broad vision of what makes architecture truly outstanding. Known for her diligence, adaptability, and intelligence, Carla thrives in dynamic environments. Outside of professional pursuits, she enjoys traveling and photography, capturing the beauty of the world around her.
