22 Nov 2022

A discourse of sustainability is conversed at FuturArc event through two of HDS' Projects

Soehardi Hartono of HDS, was honored with an invitation to speak at the renowned FuturArc Exchange & Exhibitions event, a platform that brings together professionals, thought leaders, and innovators in the field of architecture and sustainable design. During his presentation, Soehardi took the opportunity to introduce and discuss two of HDS’s notable projects: Residence @Cemara Kuta and the Revitalization of Lapangan Merdeka.

The first project, Residence @Cemara Kuta, is a residential development that embodies the essence of sustainable living. The design incorporates eco-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems, while thoughtfully integrating the local environment and sustainable elements into the architecture. This project exemplifies how modern homes can blend seamlessly with nature while reducing their environmental footprint, enhancing both the quality of life for its residents and the surrounding ecosystem.

The second project, the Revitalization of Lapangan Merdeka, focuses on breathing new life into an iconic public space. In this project, HDS worked to preserve the cultural and historical significance of the site while introducing contemporary design elements that promote community engagement and environmental sustainability. Through the use of green spaces, energy-efficient infrastructure, and a focus on the sensory experience of the space, the project showcases a balance between historical preservation and innovative urban design. The revitalization project is particularly important as it aims to make the area a vibrant, inclusive space that respects the past while fostering future sustainability.

Both of these projects reflect HDS commitment to sustainable design. Through his presentation, Soehardi emphasized the role of architecture in addressing environmental challenges, highlighting how sustainability can be integrated into both residential and public spaces. His presentation at the FuturArc Exchange & Exhibitions underscored the importance of rethinking traditional design approaches to meet the evolving needs of both communities and the environment, making a strong case for sustainability-driven design in modern architecture.
